Ops Savannah lapel pin

This turned up the other day. I wonder how many ex-servicemen from the Border War actually wear this sort of thing ? Lapel badges were popular with WW2 vets who use to wear sports coats, blazers or suits with lapels. But fashions change and I guess that this would look a little out of place on a t shirt.

Hi Mike

Many veterans of that era, especially the slightly older ones, definitely still wear things like this - probably on jackets and blazers more than T-shirts though. I think that there is a lot more of that spirit out there than most of us appreciate and the Infantry Association and Armour Formation (probably the Gunners too) help keep that spirit alive.

On commemorative occasions I also still see a lot of people well-turned out in blazers with regimental/association badges and commemorative pins, members of the R&HB, NMC and SACC coming to mind, along with members of the "traditional" regimental associations and the MOTHs of course.
