Default What is it?

Lets see how many 'experts' there are out there and see if you can identify this very nice silver item numbered 10 in the second picture.

Just to give you a few clues, it is silver it does have 2 hooks and 2 stud fastenings on the back.

Even if you are not sure, its worth a guess. (its only a bit of fun)

Ivan

Tea pot eh? That's a new one, wish I'd put it as an option on the poll.

I've put a close up picture for those that are hard of hearing.

All of the above?

I think the object at the left side of the first picture may be a big clue?

Is there a prize? ;-)

Thanks for sharing!

Interesting Simon, what is it about the shape that makes you think it is not a SBP?

I might have guessed someone would pick that out Jeff!

I think I have a better photo of it somewhere, I'll have a quick check.

Its got folded over edges at the side, its not flat enough, it probably should be oval for the period and the badge sticks out to much.

Jeff, I can't find the pictures I took of it close up in my hand so these pictures I took of it in a display cabinet will have to do.

Its a very unusual SBP, has the normal prongs and studs you would expect of a SBP and appears to be made in brass with a leather box attachment that has 6 compartments that look about the right size for cartridges of some sort.

As far as I am aware, its type has not been recorded before and it just goes to show that the unknown can still turn up.

Ivan
