You have not had a reply to this as the photos need to be better, get closer up and use a macro setting on your camera.

Do a close up of the rear after you pull the pin out, we need to be able to see the flats between the suns rays and the arch of the crown, as thats where the makers mark is located, have a look using a magnafing glass and see what you come up with.

Its most likley a WW2 issue, after WW2 we went to a gilt issue that was used in Korea and the Armoured Corps used a white metal after WW2 .

From 1953 we went to a Queens crown issue, also in gilt.
