Could an expert on South African badges please tell me the expansion of: S.A.V.F. - printed on the reverse of a brassard:
850022 SGT A. BROOKS
S.A.V.F.

Im no expert, so offhand I would say 'South African Volunteer Force' and probably c.WWII. The SA forces of WWII were not conscripted, but were volunteers.

Are you able to post a picture of the brassard?
