London N.8 battalion of the Middlesex Regiment (TA)
Please can somebody tell me which battalion of the Middlesex Regiment (TA) had their depot in Hornsey, London, N.8, during WW2.
In my mind I can still see a big sign across the front of the barracks, proclaiming it as a Middlesex Regiment HQ, but I cannot remember the number of the battalion. Many thanks, John

Many thanks Gerard, I am much obliged to you
As a young kid, on seeing their barracks for the first time I asked "Why is it so empty". I received the reply "They are all away at the war". It made an impression on me I have never forgotten, and have had an interest in the Middlesex Regiment ever since. Regards, John

Hi Gerard,
Both my dad and his dad were born in Middlesex, and although neither of them served in the county regiment, ( Grandad was a Metropolitan copper, and my dad was in the Royal Marines), It was always a family thing to support the north bank when it came to cricket, and a pride in the Middlesex Regiment. Regards, John
