What was the Kimberley Horse badge ?
I have had a great pointer from a forum member but I am after advice with regards what badge would a Sergeant who served in the Kimberly horse during the Butsutoland campaign in 1880 wear ?
I have been told that there were two flanks of the Kimberley Hse - 1 KH & 2 KH one could have worn a pith helmet with a pugarée badge the other slouch hat with ' KH ' title on turn up off hat. My two questions are 1. Is there a Regt museum for the Kimberley Regt who could perhaps look up my Sgt so I can ascertain which flank he served in ? 2. Once I've ascertained 1 or 2 KH could any member point me towards where to locate the correct badge ? Many thanks for your time and help. LIR Geezer |

Hi, the Kimberley Regt. is still based there. I think that they have a regimental museum, other wise the McGregor museum in Kimberley may be of assistance. As far as the badges go, I have never seen one, and would be excited to see one, and even more excited to add one to my collection. Have fun. Regards Andrew
