Smile Long lost Family

Tonight I watched Long lost Family which featured the finding of nine bodies in a trench in Belgium, all died during the battle of Paschendale and using DNA from relatives seven of the nine were identified.

All were given a military funeral attended by members of the RRF and the relatives who attended received a union jack, cap with Northumberland Fusiliers cap badge and belt.

An interesting program worth watching IMO.

Rob

I watched it last night and found it very moving and at the same time inspirational. I love the fact that we have a unit in the MOD whose sole job is to identify these bodies ( based in Gloucester ) and also the care and reverence with which the bodies were treated by the descendent Regiment ( Royal Regt of Fusiliers ) - Tim
