Smile Hello to the Forum !

Hello to all members !
My name is Markus, i live in Germany and i collect oders, medals and decorations since the 1970s.
My main fields of interest are royal prussian decorations from the 19th century, uniform insignia of the imperial german navy and the german merchant navy until 1945.
In all the years of collecting always british regimental badges crossed my way, i liked them but never found the "key" to this field of collecting.
Now i have decided to buy some literature, K&K and some other books, and i start to learn more about the system of british regimental badges.
I have only some more than a dozend of badges in my young collection and already some questions to the experienced collectors.
I will start with this "crude", sand casted, badge of the Royal Army Medical Corps. It is, if i am right, K&K 1007.
I got it in a lot of all period decorations and badges - but is it possible that this poor quality is original ?

Thanks in advance for all your help,
kind regards
Markus
