I’m deeply saddened to learn of James’ passing. I had no idea he had been unwell.

Thank you Tim, for conveying the sad news; I know you and he were great pals. Hope you’re okay, mate?

JT

Sad to hear this Tim, I remember meeting you both at Stratford for a good chat over a cuppa. James always had a kind word to say and will be missed on here, RIP mate,

James was a dear friend, and he and I would attend the Stratford fair together. We had a mutual love of collecting, but deeper than that, we were friends. James had been stoically fighting illness for some time. His true love, Sandra his wife, has asked me to convey his passing to you all.

I will miss James so very much. He and I emailed several times a week, and there was no-one more excited to get a badge, rare or common, than James. Those that have seen his drawings album will know he had many talents, but the main one was he was a true gentleman. We have lost a great man.

I am deeply saddened to hear of this news. I always enjoyed James' comments and his posts.

He gave me some very useful information about the badges that interest me and was always forthcoming with his tips and tricks.

Much missed!

When my new RBL badges arrived today my first (automatic) thought was to send James a message as he was always interested and would have wanted to get them for his own collection . I actually put his name on a PM before I realised what I was doing.

I wish I'd had an opportunity to meet him in person , a true gentleman !

Tragic news, James was such a gent and always happy to share his passion for the hobby and detailed research on the more obscure and unusual home front badges. He will be greatly missed by us all, rest in peace James, My thoughts are with his family, Mike
