Victorian / Edwardian Rifle Brigade FSC's.
Here are 2 Rifle Brigade FSC's I bought a few years about.
The Victorian pattern is the common type, but the KC badge has a blank tablet and 1902 on the arms of the cross. Is this a Militia badge?,as they didn't have volunteer battalions. Nothing about it in K&K Vol 1. Cheers. Al |

Have you considered the 17th Bn London Regiment.

As Alan has stated, consider 17th London.
I have a pair of these in OSD cast bronze and initially I believed they were Rifle Brigade Militia items, however Churchill 1922 identifies these as possibly being worn on an unofficial basis by 17th London and in my 17th London drawer they dwell. (I believe these came form Keith B, he may be able to shed more light on them as he knows the source.) However, he adds that they were in B/B for Other ranks and silver for officers. At the moment, I'm not sure of where that leaves my cast pair. Regards. Brian P.S. Forgot to add that my pair are collar badges. Last edited by Fatherofthree; 05-08-22 at 09:18 PM. Handy to know they were worn by the 17th also, I was going off a thread from yesteryear which I’d added to my notes where Ry and Keith had shown several RB Militia badges and this one was amongst them.

This one came at the same time from the seller of the above badges.
It's slightly larger,so I'm hoping this one is a proper FSC badge, and not a collar. To be honest,I'm a bit disappointed the RB Militia badge is as described,as it's unlikely I'll find a matching one,and a cap badge, to complete a set. Al |

Pre-1905 as the South Africa battle honour was awarded and a scroll was tagged on as per this badge in the link:

Thanks Luke,
I think the expression, not for me is appropriate if there are variants like that out there. Definitely Not my field, and outside my comfort zone. |

And then in BB, pre and post 1905. Why two patterns for the SA honour badge?

It confirms the number of variants there were in such a short time period. |
