Yorkshire Brigade Officer's Beret (Green Howards Lt Colonel)

A Herbert Johnson private purchase beret ( I'm unable as yet to make out whether by appointment to King or Queen) with fabric band, the badge is embroidered on dark blue cloth.

By the time I bought this beret it had already been sold at least once as part of a grouping with a boxed field officer's forage cap and OSD cap.
Presumably they were bought to sell individually at a profit or perhaps someone collects caps and not berets.......
Photos from the original sale show the badges on the two caps were gilt and enamel with the crown voided and with red velvet cushions. Yorkshire Volunteers rather than Yorkshire Brigade?
