Default Badge Identity Please

Hello, I have found this photo in amongst my late grandparents stuff and I am particularly interested in the chap on the left of the picture, I am hoping it is my Great Grandfather. Could anyone help identify the uniform and the badges/insignia please. Thank you in advance.

Hi Steve,
I think the chap sitting on the right is in Canadian 1st Infantry Battalion. Was your grandfather Canadian?
Cheers, Tinto

Was your great-grandfather in the CEF? The other two soldiers appear to be wearing Canadian uniforms. Nice example of an individually styled chinstrap on the sitting soldier. Thanks for sharing.

Cheers,
Dan.

Now this is interesting, thank you both.
The chap on the left may not be my Great Grandfather after all then, it could be my Great Uncle Bob who was in the CEF 18th Battalion, I have also been looking for a picture of him. May be this is it.
Thank you.
