Default Rifle Brigade Silver?

Hello gents,

I was given the following badge today by a friend. He found it buried in a garden in my home town around fifteen years ago, as it happens it was found in the same street that my grand parents lived in during World War Two.

I suppose it would be a case of extremely wishful thinking that it could have possibly belonged to my Grandfather, (WOIII PSM Scout Platoon Cmdr 1st Bn RB) I'll never know for sure though.

My friend had forgotten about it until his mother reminded him today that she had kept it for safe keeping.

The badge was in a bit of a grubby state and has lost its lugs but after a quick silver dip it has come up nicely.

Any opinions are more than welcome.

Regards to all.

Ry

In my opinion, worth re-lugging (several artisans on this Forum) and giving it a new lease of life. David

Thanks David,

To be honest, if I had seen this badge up for sale I would probably have avoided it in favour of a tidier example.

Given the local link though I am please to have it and will certainly add it to the growing number of badges that I have acquired lately for my collection that are in need of repair.

Regards

Ry

Ry,

Great story. You just never know about the possible connection to your Granddad... stranger things have happened.

I'd love to see it again should you decide to have it repaired.

Thanks for posting it.

All the best,

Peter
