Default Commissionaires uniform

Hi Commissionaire, You mention that the uniform you wear has changed little since Victorian times. I wish that were true with ours here in Ontario Canada. I've been with the Corps since 1996 and had three changes of uniform, including the epaulettes and hat badges. Included with this is four types of head-dress dependent on season or weather (I still have my white cap as per your avatar which we do not wear anymore) I've a few "Odds and sods" for trade if you wish. I saw this one on ebay, wasn't sure if it was legit!! I know now, Nice one, well done.

Hi guys,

I received a, very helpful and friendly, letter back form Corps Security. I was a little surprised as it is the first reply I have ever had to a direct enquiry about insignia.

I qoute:

"The badge shown within your letter was affixed to our Commissionaires message sachel (a small leather and metal pouch attached to the cross-belt and carried in the small of the back).

As far as I can ascertain, the badge dates from the late 1880's.

I can confirm that we also have such a badge on display within our Boardroom."

Here is the restored badge:

hi guys been reading some of your entries on here i have got the full corps commissionaires uniform badges and collar numbers ( 2341 ) all brass including the belt new on here and not sure how to load photos message me i will try to post some
