NSW Police
I would like to know more about this small beautiful badge - so far I have gleaned that it is silver, first impression of the type, dated c 1915 and very rare - one source describes it as 'one of the rarest'. Up until now I have had it among my Australian insignia collection and have posted under Australian military thread in the Forum, but will consider moving it my Police collection after
I have ascertained that the Force at that period were solely Police and had no affinity with other mounted troopers & constabulary, such as the British SA Police. GTB |

A small history, including dates of use of your badge can be seen on this website.

Thanks, daverpol, in fact the info I had gleaned came from that site. I am interested in knowing about the function of the NSW Police at the time this badge was worn (WW1 period) to wholly exclude whether they were purely Police or quasi-military, for wont of a better definition.

Looking at the history of the NSW Police, they were a Police Force with no military connections.

Thanks again, daverpol. I guess I may have been misled also by the introduction of what has been described as the introduction of the 'military style cap'.
Will relocate badge GTB |
