Default Title

I saw that collection on E**y and won most of the lots. Obviously didn't win the lot with the "WELSH VOLUNTEERS" title, but it piqued my curiosity.
I'll be watching this thread with interest, not to mention keeping my eyes open for another example now.

From my book Badges on Battle Dress

Jon

As TAVR II Volunteer units were not scheduled to receive No 2 Dress uniforms until April 1968 many asked to retain arm titles. Except for The Queens and Royal Anglian Regiments which were formed as battalions of ‘large’ regiments, individual companies of some of the new Volunteer battalions asked to wear the arm titles of their former regiments. Only the Welsh and Yorkshire Volunteers requested new arm titles, the ‘Welsh Volunteers’ title would only be worn by its HQ Company, its other companies retaining their former titles.
