Default Notts Sherwood Rangers Yeomanry

Sorry I now have a question on Notts SRY.

Badge with Notts SRY around bugle came in service about 1949 I believe.

What badge would have been used in 1915??? was it just the bugle

The chairborne badge is certainly not WW1-era. That type have been heavily reproduced as you can see from ‘naplesturtle’ offerings.

All the OR Tank Corps badges look fine.

What do you mean by naplesturtle offerings. Also what does the ww1 look like.

You think the TC badge looks ok then it’s very clean and shiny though don’t you think.

So need to find better N SRY badge then, probably end up with a fake knowing me

The seller naplesturtle only sells fakes and repros.

For starters it’s bigger. The badge on chairborne is the alleged smaller beret badge supposedly worn later. Personally I believe these are all fakes as by mid-WW2 they were wearing strap badge which continued until change to QC.

Size aside the other differences include the tassels will be joined to the bugle strings by a fillet of metal each side not voided and hanging free. The central knot will not have that circular flat area.

Sorry I missed your other question.

Don’t be put off by a badge being clean. Condition is dependant on many factors. This is my first pattern (1914) Tyneside Scottish cap badge, it is 107 years old but in remarkable condition.
