Default Royal Military Academy, School & RMA Sandhurst

With nothing much to do whilst keeping a weather eye on Bosleys' online auction today, I though I would crudely place on card some Royal Military Academy and Royal Military School badges along with those from their subsequent amalgamation - Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.

Nothing too startling and rare I know, but it's the collecting that counts and there are still plenty more to find and add. However, one I've been very unsuccessful in finding is an all gilding-metal Royal Military Academy badge. The Academy badges are on the top row of the attached and have the field gun in the middle. KK states there is a gilding-metal version, but in lieu of finding one I've just added an extra gilt badge to the top row as a gap filler for now.

The Academy gilding-metal badges that I've seen look out and out fakes and have an odd shaped crown, but perhaps my radar is being too pernickety. Does anyone have a gilding-metal RMA badge that they are confident in and willing to show. It really should be an easy badge to find - shouldn't it??

Thanks
Mark

I always enjoy so much seeing other collectors badges, even if they are not in my area of collecting. And, seeing these is a pleasure - thank you for sharing.

HI Jerry
If I'm not mistaken you have two gilding RMA's. First photo, top 1 and 2. If you get chance sometime I'd sure appreciate a closer image.

Hi Mark, I will put them up tomorrow for you, too dark now.
I have been to a small fair in the New Forest this evening but it was a wash out, literary. Lots of rain on and off.

Hi Jerry
Thank you very much for taking the time to do this for me, it is appreciated.

Your gilding badges are exactly what I'm seeing for sale, but I've held back getting one as they do appear to be from a different 'die type' to their bronze and gilt stable mates. The pronounced step between the central cross on top of the crown and the beginning of the arches on either side concerned me as did the representation of the jewels along the band at the base of the crown.

Perhaps as I said I'm being too pernickety and I recognise there will be different manufacturers.

Anyway thanks again for the photos and I'm going to mull it over a while.
Cheers
Mark
