Default Black Watch Piper’s Plaid Brooch

Not sure on this BW piper’s plaid brooch—opinions welcome!

Couldn’t locate fake examples in threads for comparison. How the casting on the reverse looks is my first cause for questioning it, and whilst the pin looks OK, it seems short for the Victorian/Edwardian era. However, the front looks consistent with good examples I’ve seen.

The originals were all cast and not always of the best quality, but I am not knowledgeable enough to comment on the originality of these examples.

Thanks fellas!

The front looks consistent with examples that are good, it’s mainly the back that’s got me going hmm. On the flip side, eBay and elsewhere don’t appear flooded with ’em.
