The 'yellow donkey'. Universally hated. Worn by 6 Field Force. NEVER worn as a pair, but the one on the left arm was worn by Battalions (inc X Para) and worn on the right by HQ.

Not sure of the dates. Need to Google it.

6 Field Force was short lived, it was formed in March 1977 on the disbandment of 16 Parachute Brigade and was re-formed as part of 5 Infantry Brigade in late 1981, and as such were part of the Falklands War in April 1982

In the early 1980s the Field Force concept was dropped in favour of traditional Brigades, 5th Infantry Brigade was reformed at Aldershot in 1981 by the redesignation of 8th Field Force. The Brigade consisted of the former elements of the Parachute Contingency Force (PCF) from 6 Field Force (which became the 1st Infantry Brigade), at the time 2 PARA, together with a second Parachute Battalion from 8 Field Force (3 PARA).
