Default Victorian Shako for identification please

Hi
Can anyone kindlh identify and date this shako, had it for a while but it's not really my thing but would like to I'd it before I part with it.
Hope someone can help

1st Middlesex (Victoria) Rifle Volunteer Corps.
Officers Shako Plate, 1859.
Bronze Star (8 point), Silver St George & Dragon within laurel wreath surmounted by a QVC.

.... became the 9th (County of London) Btn, The London Regiment (Queen Victoria's) in 1908.

Don't like the extra four holes which are evident on the reverse. Its also been repainted and appears to have been re-lugged.

...thanks identification.
As to originality will get it checked out as pictures are not great as was seeking it's identification. I am surprised by the comments lugs do not appear replaced , and it has not been "repainted.
I won't be binning it just yet.

... here is the image from Kipling and King. There is a hallmark on the fine cut laurel wreath on the two leaves either side of the ribbon tie.

If there are pins missing then this is evidence that the wreath, crown and the centre have been removed from the star at some time in the past and that in refitting these the pins have snapped off when they have been re-bent back in place. It is most unlikely that they would snap off of their own volition without human intervention.
