Phil has expressed concern at the North Stafford badge - can anyone please confirm or deny please and also please comment on the other badges. Thanks (also to Phil)!

Good: Border Regiment 5 Bat (Phil)

Cambridgeshire and Hunts Cyclists OK for sure, not keen on the North Staffs which appears to have been blackened.

Hi Rob, Thank you for your comments. I really appreciate it. North Staffs has indeed been browned - apparently as a replacement badge for an officer at least according to seller. In any case with two people not happy with it, I have put it aside for return to seller. Thanks. Cheers, Tom

Apropos the OSD (just written on that thread).

There are instances that ORs promoted to 2Lt are known to have painted their badges with a brown 'paint'?

Thank you for that addition - the question for the Stafford batch in any case remains: is it an original OR badge? Leaving aside the question when it was browned. Two people have indicated that they do not like the badge but perhaps this judgement was mainly based on the browning of it?

Good:
Cambridgeshire (Rob)
Hunts Cyclists (Rob)

Bad/Questionable:
North Staff (Phil and Rob)

Please be so kind to give some more opinions on the badges in this thread. THANK YOU!

Cheers, Tom
