Victoria Rifles of Canada
Hi All,
This Title was in a recent lot I picked up. I looked at previous threads to see if I could find it but no luck. As I am not familiar with the backing of this Title and hence its date/authenticity of manufacture I am reaching out to see if anyone can help out. Best, Mike

Some CCW (collectors' conventional wisdum) has it that these are a reproduction. I am not sure that they are, but they are post war production. (No serifs on the embroidery.)

Thanks Bill for the insight!
Do those who think it is a reproduction base that on the Backing of the Shoulder Title? Is there a term (i,e.: starch back) that describes this backing? Mike

Hi Mike, Yes these were apparently made up in the US by a maker. There were several titles that were made in the same manner. I believe the PWOR are another example that has the same backing, plus more. The backing is described as loose mesh.

Thanks Bill!
I also have a Royal Artillery Title with this backing...it is odd that a British Title would have this backing if it was made in the USA. I have attached the picture for comparison. Best, Mike

The makers name associated with the wide cotton mesh pattern of titles is Patch King. They reportedly made a wide range of Canadian and British titles for private purchase.
