Warwickshire Yeomanry c1914
Great War period Badges show the Bear chained by the head to the ragged post & the Bears feet on the ground and not with one foot on the ragged post?
From what date did the "foot up & collared Chain loose" start appearing? Foot up and "collared chain loose"

I think the badge changed when the imperial yeomanry ceased, not 100% sure though. Cheers Malc

Acording to KK the Imperial title was dropped from yeomanry badges in 1908 and new badges were made. Cheers Malc

Hi Malc
Does K&K show the badge shown above? If so what date do they give (if any)?

For Luke H :-
An Imperial Yeomanry cap badge with the foot down...... a great war cap badge with the foot up. *The original post above contained a hot link to an eBay item ...... thats why you can not see it now.

Thanks very much for getting back to me Griff.
It’s a shame the eBay link is long dead as it sounds like it might’ve been a photograph of this badge in wear which is a bit of an anomaly and I suspect possibly a WW1 manufacturing mistake. The search continues... |
