Family of humble hero Harry Murray donates Victoria Cross to Australian War Memorial
The memorial now has 70 of the 100 Victoria Crosses awarded to Australian servicemen.
This is of significant value historically and a great gesture on behalf of the family. If it went to the market it would possibly fetch AUD$1 million plus (£450 million). Lets not forget he also went from a private in 1914 to a LTCOL in 1918 and also the most decorated soldier of the British Empire during the Great War.
Exceptional bravery and exceptional leadership qualities! Mick
