Unknown helmet German para?
I need some help identifing this unknown helmet, it has German PARA decals but these could have been added. I think its East europe? I don't think it's russian. Any help would be appreciated. The paint job looks like it's recent as well.

At first glance I thought it was Italian, definitely not German.

It looks like an M72 Bulgarian Helmet, which was copied from the M33 Italian helmet

Para helmet
Do you think the decals are original? Would axis countries use the luftwaffe emblem?

Not a bad guess on the shape;I knew it had an Italian flair to it.

I would be very wary of it.
Modern copies of decals are easily attached to any helmet that takes your fancy! For a more expert opinion you could try this website http://www.walhalla.se/ |

I know over here, original German Para helmets can go for up to $2500-$3000; they are a very sought after commodity.

Para helmet
If you look at the decals it looks like the paint was added after the decal as the background is smooth, does the eagle decal look authentic?

Odd sense of humour some people have, trying to pass off a modern day helmet from a neutral country as a ww2 German paratroop helmet!
Still, not as bad as the sense of humour that Uday Hussein had. Apparently he was a fan of the Star Wars films & copied a certain design for the helmet to be worn by his Fedayeen troops. |
