Bent & Parker & Gaunt (for the Boffs)
A question for the Boffs
Did Gaunt buy out or simply buy the dies from Bent & Parker in the same way they had some of the dies from Jennens & Co when they folded?

Yes, Gaunt took over B&P in 1925 (the same year they took over J&Co). The Gaunt archives (in London and B'ham) include the B&P and J&Co archives
I would be very interested if G used B&P dies. Because I'd like to know if they used such B&P for the King's badges! Certainly G used J&Co (though fully marked [offr badges] ones could have been used before 1925). There are 'Gaunt late Jennens' well known marks BUT I have detected subtle alterations. |
