Default Collar badges in bags

Hi all, over the years I have seen for sale on eBay many officer’s and other ranks post 1970 cap badges for sale in there bag of issue, but I don’t think I have ever seen any collars in a bag of issue. So my question is, has anyone ever brought British army post 1970 collar badges still in there plastic bags..........that’s if they where in them in the first place. Thanks in advance andrew

Manufacturers routinely package collar badges in pairs. So "yes", it is quite common.

Yes quite common. A few here in a thread in which I questioned the ready availability of current issue badges which seem never to have been near the Quartermasters stores.

A dealer friend of mine has Gaunt made collars still in their tissue and cello tape. These are in the boxes Gaunt used to ship them in with a description label on the end.

Likewise, I've got quite a few original tissue packed anodised collars - cellotape holding them gone brown and dry. OR a small perished rubber band.

Also many anodised and 'new metal' collars in clear bags - usually various incarnations of FIRMIN manufacturing info printed thereon.
