I have a single a/a button to the 9th lancers ,as Ripley35 but Q/C gold anodised marked buttons Ltd Re visited Walter Lambers list I was wrong he does list the 9th lancers in silver anodised[kk1900] with collars and buttons He has a cross next to this and the 3 rd Hussars but I have lost the index page I suspect this says not worn by the regiment but private /unofficial commission ??

Bought this in the 1990s, but can't remember who from or how much it cost.

Certainly it is an 'unofficial commission' aka a fake.

Best rgds

William

I know collars exist in a/a to both regiments David.
The 3rd hussars ones are the same as those now worn by the QRH but obviously made from different metals.
Im not very hot on buttons so I cant make a comment on them.

Hi gents,
for what its worth I have a couple of these unmarked too. Obviously a late made copy, however curiously I have a set of the aa collars too. Most of the anomaly type late copies of classic Regiments we see don't come with the collars as well.

Not sure why these would exist - unless they were worn by a later TA or yeomanry unit perhaps? Or someone just decided to have them made to match the cap badge?

I dont think there are any examples that are marked. No doubt someone will shoot me down and post one. Could they have worn by a cadet or ccf unit ? Similar to the unmarked Welsh regt badge and the Monmouthshire badge being worn by Monmouth School CCF.

Hi Chaps

If it's of any help, I also have a QC gold A/A large size 9th Lcrs button (Gaunt).
It's the only one I've ever seen. Never seen a small size one or 12 Lcrs in any size.

David

Hi David,

Not much info cos it's a dealer knock off made by Gaunt in the late 1980's.

The guy has been trying to sell it for years now with a steady reduction in price.

Regards

Chris

For 20 quid more they could have bought a book telling them not to buy it.
