Default Burma /Rangoon/Madras Police buttons

Hi
Thought I'd add this to the button fest.
L-R - Rangoon Police with crown
Burma Police with crown
Burma Police with crown - ball button - almost a tiny globe and heavy!
Madras police - Victorian crown

Very nice indeed.

With all these fascinating Colonial buttons being shown makes me think I should start keeping my eyes open.

Cheers,

Roy

Think again Roy!

As you well know, this is an incurable disease ..I started with British Indian army medals, then badges, then branched out to Indian Police and Indian Rly badges and medals, along the way got into Indian Police buttons (some 20-odd now) and then also Regimental Spoons, matchbox covers, other militaria and mementoes..an oh yes..Indian Army sports medals ..and other 'interesting' medals which can be anything - I also collect miniature cannon, matchbox labels, comics, betel nut boxes and nutcrackers, cap guns...

Oooo my word...

I thought I had a problem with my latest Victorian revolver purchase but clearly my mental health is on solid ground and I have no need to worry...

I would recommend a treatment my friend but it's clear your are too far gone...

Cheerio,

Roy

Indeed Roy!
Forgot to mention another sub-theme - shooting medals

Would love to see a photo of your Victorian revolver -- another of my interests but something I cannot buy in this country - I have to make do with drooling over photos in books

Regards,
Sunil

PS: The planned NY resolution for 2018 is to stick to my Indian Army medals theme..this has been the case last 5 years

Khyber,

Do you ever come across medals to Indian members of the Shanghai Municipal Police or Hong Kong Police ? I am very interested in medals to these two units.

I'm equally interested in medals to Indians in the Shanghai Municipal Police and want one. Missed one in India last year. About 10 years ago when I was not collecting police medals the dealers here used to offer them at 50-60 gbp and there were no takers!! They seem to be pretty scarce now and am hoping to add one to my collection some day. I did pick up a Shanghai Municipal Council emergency medal here a couple of months ago. They often turned up in pairs earlier and I remember being once offered one with date clasps as well..The municipal police badge as well..too bad I did not know better then..but eventually one will turn up, I'm sure....
