The motto is that of the Hindmarsh and Hyndmarsh families ( Depend only in the cross ) according to Fairbairns "Crests " but it looks like a scottish clan badge to me. P.B.

Definitely has the clan badge look. Maybe they've run out ofs Scots and are recruiting for a new line of "English clans". Judging by the number of shops even here in Canada floggingg clan regalia there must be money in it!
