I have attached a number of photos of my wifes relatives in service dress. At least two of them I think are early 1900's but the other two are in the 1930's. I am wondering if anyone can tell me what group they belonged to.

Thanks in advance

Jack

Picture 1: Man in Khaki SD is Royal Regiment of Artillery (Trumpeter).
Picture 2: Again Royal Regiment of Artillery.
Picture 3: Trumpter (Possibly Royal Regiment of Artillery pre 1926, the Trumpeters badge was changed in 1918 and the collar badges in 1926)
Picture 4: Bandsman (Not Royal Regiment of Artillery)

Picture 4 appears to be a Drummer. therefore not a Bandsman. There is a distinction. Great Photos.

No 4 is a drummer in the final pattern (1910) of full dress, with 'crown and inch' lace worn only by drummers of infantry line regiments (the Guards have 'fleur-de-lis' lace instead) and, from the collar badges, he is a member of a fusilier regiment. His facings (collar and cuffs) do not appear to be dark blue which rules out the regiments with a Royal prefix and leaves just the Lancashire (who had white facings) and the Northumberland (who had 'Gosling Green' facings). It seems most likely therefore that it is a drummer of the latter.
