Looks like standards have changed at Wallis & Wallis since Roy Butler's days.

A poor fake that shouldn’t fool any serious LRDG collector.

I stopped buying from them ages ago, they pass off fakes regularly of British and German militaria.
Their terms and conditions even state they will never refund on any German items. One auction that was at the top of the Militaria game that I no longer trust. best wishes

It’s about time that all online sells should have a simple fake or real button that registered bidders could click on, and therefore anyone could make a judgment based on all the other viewers thoughts.

I'd label everything fake just to deter competitors then I'd sweep up the genuine items that I've told everyone are fake.

And I guess you could also lapel the fake stuff as real , and get rid of all that……….so it was a bad idea of mine. Will now go and put fingers in door frame and slam the door

Aha, then you won't be able to bid online, not that you might after I've chummed the water with my cries of fake, fake, don't bid on it.

Wallis and Wallis.
Even under Roy Butler. Wallis and Wallis was a pays your money you takes your chance auction. Especially if it concerned cap badges and Third Reich items.

Bid
I put a bid in a couple of days before the auction because I wouldn’t be online live, a room bidder equalled my bid and won the item. They should follow ebay and if bids are equal the earliest bid takes priority.
Regards, Bill. |

Wallis And Wallis
Bear in mind that an employee of very long standing at Wallis and Wallis has a small militaria shop stroke business. Anything military that's worth having and at the right price will never go to an on line bidder. Need i say more?
