Default Help to ID Regiment, Please.

Cannot quite make out the FSH badge in this photo... Royal Fusiliers perhaps?

The waist belt clasp is of the lion and crown design, and the hackle looks to be pied, as does the puggaree. Any ideas, please?

With thanks as always,

The plume appears to be dark upper half, light coloured lower half.
I'd go for NF, not RF, with red above white plume & red "V" top fold to the pugaree.
Fusilier fur cap badge, two chin chains worn instead of the leather strap to add a bit of flash, but why the ball top to the helmet, as per artillery & some other units instead of the infantry spike?
Helmet just jazzed up with what was to hand for the photo?
I wonder if he's a WWI era recruit in UK rather than abroad, with an old belt with Victorian Crown locket & the cobbled together FSH provided as a prop by the photo studio?

The visible white collar also suggests a degree of fancy dress, but I would agree that the plume is NF and not RF.

I hadn't noticed the lanyard, practical but again, added for the photo perhaps?

Gents,

Some really interesting points there. Thank you.

That said, zooming in on the cap badge, I'd say the central device looks to be the rose of the RF, as opposed to the NF St. George... or am I mistaken?

Regards,

JT.

I think the badge does look more like RF than NF, although it's rather indistinct.
The hackle isn't RF's white though, its NF's red over white by the look of it, & the pugaree also matches NF's khaki with top fold of red.

Having read everyones points on this especially Leigh's I am now of the opinion that the whole helmet is a studio prop and that the soldier may be from any regiment.
