Found a Captain W.D Horniman with Royal Signals :

ROYAL CORPS OF SIGNALS.
The undermentioned Capts. to be Majs.: —
26th Aug. 1941: —

W. D. Horniman (30867).

He was a Royal Signals Lt.(1929) but was attached to the RAF.
