Default Bedfordshire Yeomanry

Would it be possible for someone to post a photo of a Bedfordshire Yeomanry badge WW1 era?

Many thanks,

Philip

Here you go the all brass version and the bimetal (post WW2) version. K&K have the bimetal one as pre 1920 but I do not agree as this one has the post war Gaunt mark on it.

The fakes are easy to spot as they are not voided where as the legs on the genuine ones are cut out.

Alan,

Thanks for info and photos. See attached photo of a relative who was in the B.Y. taken in 1915 not the best quality but on the original I’m fairly shore its brass which would help support you theory?

Yes believed he enlisted or transferred in May 1915

Recently I read in "British fighting methods in the Great war" by Paddy Griffith. That quote "Three parties from the Bedfordshire Yeomanry transferred in autumn 1914 to serve as the Divisional Police of 48th Division.

Still trying to find out if he was one of them.
