Default cavalry hussars !!

My grandfather was a Colonel (RAMC) in the 2nd World War.
Here are his cap badges ... I presume that on the right was his service dress badge !

These are the cap badges of the General Staff rather than the Cavalry. I think the ebay seller is being a bit hopeful and is mixing the badge of a Staff Officer up with one of the Hussars regiments who had a similiar Lion and crown but with the regtl scroll. 15/19th Hussars springs to mind.

Thanks Alan
I thought it was something like extra regimentaly employed/general srvice not Cavalry, funny when i was at Farnham Sunday i saw an exact same one offered as the Devon Yeomanry.

To elaborate all 3 badges consist of a Lion standing on a K/C. Howver the ERE badge has a different proportions between the crown and lion and the crown is solid. It is commonly found in g/m.

The Devon Yeomanry is more tricky because the ORs badge shown in Cox and K&K is identical in size and design to the General Staff badge. Indeed it was unususal as it is a bronzed ORs badge. Circa 1908-20 then I would expect this badge to be lugged and/or slidered. They amalgamated just after WW1 and the badge was no more. How you tell a die struck lugged RDY version from a die struck lugged GS version I just don't know.

The General Staff badge being Offrs only, is bladed which is why I think the one above is that.
