Default WRU - 26th Hussars Officers Epaulette for Peter Seaman

This is one for Peter Seaman.
I have enclosed what I believe is an officers cloth epaulette with its flat back cast, worn gilt, badge attached. It has 2 press studs at the rear and the backing cloth is more square than the one shown in your WRU book for the
O/R's Pagri. I assume that it is ok - it has the type 1 version (rather than the typ2 2 shown in your book) - which you also mention as being possible.
I would appreciate your comments please.
Thanks in advance, David

Good evening David,

Thank you for the posting. The 26th Hussars item is the pagri flash, they do vary a little in shape but all those that I have seen have the same attachments - being two press studs at the top, as yours, and have the type 1 or 2 locally cast eagle badge attached or the UK produced die stamped type 2 pattern badge fitted. The officers shoulder strap slip-on, Fig 89 in my book, is a length of material folded over and sewn at the back to form a loop for slipping over the shoulder stap. These too can be found with a mixture of eagles attached. I hope that this helps. Cloth items to the 26th Hussars are very rare indeed and you have found a very nice item.

With all good wishes,

Peter
