Default KC Welch AA buttons

I bought a job lot of Welch Regiment buttons from ebay the other day, mainly for the 4 officer cap buttons, one by Jennens, but until thy arrived I had not noticed that two of the tunic buttons were AA, one by Firmin and the other by Buttons Limited.

Which? All the buttons are KC except the officer cap badges which just have the fleur de llys, no crowns. Only two of the tunic buttons are AA.

Yes. I had assumed 14 mm buttons for cap badges and these 16 mm mounted buttons exclusively for mess dress.
