Default Unofficial Royal Scots Dragoon Guards Piper Patch

I recently picked up this patch and am not sure if I should keep it with my 7th Armored, or with my Medic patches. I have heard that it was an unofficial patch worn by this regiments pipers and that the pipers also served as medics. If that isn't correct, then I will put it with my 7th Armored collection.

Thank you for any help or information,

Terry

Terry your badge is shown on National Army Museum site but no mention of 'medic' connection.

Edit : They recorded an album of music while on an operational posting to Basra in Iraq (2008).

Quote:
The tracks on ‘Spirit of the Glen: Journey’ that were recorded in Basra were ‘Abide With Me’, ‘Dear Lord and Father of Mankind’, ‘In Flanders Fields’ and ‘For the Fallen’. The piper playing ‘For the Fallen’ was recorded live, in the open and at the base where the Regiment was stationed: the hum of Basra can be heard in the background.

Thought this may be of interest to members. Copy of an invoice to me from Ian Kelly of Kelly Badge in January 1992. Enclosed are the Medic badges he mentions. I too have a bagpiper rat badge somewhere at home.

My very sincere thanks to all. I believe my question has been answered and it now resides comfortably with my small collection of 7th Armored badges. Some really GREAT info indeed!!!
