To add my 2 cents To me the SAS wings are not ww2 the look and feel is not right for that period.
I am not sure if LRDG did wear wings on breast but rather right arm. In the SAS wings could be worn as operational wings on the left breast after 3 operations behind enemy lines but I don’t know if LRDG applied this as well. I know nothing about special forces insignia but what does strike me is how much of it there is. These units can’t have been very big so to find so much of it seems at odds with that.
