WW1 issue coffee mug?
Hello all.
I recently found this while metal detecting in Edmonton Alberta Canada. The same site yielded a blank WW1 round that I’ll post in another thread to ask about. I believe this is a WW1 BEF issue mug. I’ve not seen many existing examples, were these considered extra kit and mostly thrown out? Any thoughts would be appreciated. |

I say old chap, us British mainly drank tea and coffee mugs were much smaller due to its cost!
Looks like an issued 1 Pint enamelled mug as issued to all soldiers with a KFS. http://www.warrelics.eu/forum/equipm...empire-707856/ |

Darn, such a mug was around when I was a child. It must have been part of the kit issued to the owner of my avatar items.

As I understand mugs were not individual issue (Great War) and this type of mug has been around for many years in use in camping, scouts etc, so I would think very hard to state military or age. I would think at best its a mug that could have been used by a soldier back then, an item he had bought or obtained. Not sure if this would be the same in Canada. Regards, Paul.
