Default Brass Eritrea Police cap badge - good or bad?

Good evening

I’ve had this Eritrea Police cap badge for a few years and thought I’d post it for opinions as to whether it is good or bad. At 4.9 x 4.9cm it is about the same size as the standard WM cap badge but fretted from stamped sheet brass with round E-W lugs on the reverse. It is similar to item #1925 on page 83 of British Colonial Badges II, but appears to have been struck using a different die - and cut out with a lot less care. At the time I understood it to be a genuine badge, but not WWII-era. Personally I like it, but what do members think?

As always any info, suggestions or opinions will be gratefully received.

Thanks for looking

Graham

Hi Graham,

It is certainly not the standard die-struck example. But I love it, I would say it's a locally made example.

Great badge.

Cheerio,

Roy
