Default Lancashire Hussars x 2

two Lancashire Hussars badges for opinions please:
blackened one with slider, quite a rounded profile
white metal one with lugs and with the I.Y. after Hussars
it's probably slightly better to have 2 of the same to compare but not if they are both duff!

G'day Bobblehat'

Im a bit suss of the white metal IY issue as it appears to have "footed" lugs which is an accepted sign of being a repro.

I hope that this helps.

Regards

Phil.

L.H. Badges fall into the “one of the most reproduced” category. Research by the late Bob Smith , the co author of many booklets on Yeomanry Regiments found no evidence that the Lancashire Hussars ever wore white metal badges.

I would say, just from the photographs you show, they are not original.

Thank you chaps for your excellent replies-much appreciated.
It is of course obvious to me now that many small regiments-Cyclists,Yeomanry etc-had desirable badges that then became much copied -but as a keen lad all those years ago...
