Default Two more puzzling badges!

Good afternoon everyone,

Again as part of one of my occasional sort throughs I am uploading photos of two further badges that I need help with.

The first is the Italian Co-Belligerent Forces with the Allies Folgore formation sign. Up until now I have only seen this in a printed cloth version. However mine appears to be made of some kind of firm celluloid with four pin holes at each corner to attach to a uniform. I am aware that celluloid badges did exist generally during WW2 but is that the case for the Folgore badge?

The second badge is bullion embroidered on a khaki canvas type material with some yellow stitching to the reverse. Does anyone have any idea what this badge might be?

Any help much appreciated as ever,

Bill

Thanks for your help with these Mike.

As regards the Folgore badge it is all very encouraging info. Out of further interest I am uploading a photo of a similar bakelite type sign I have found. I do not have a clue what it is but if you look at my photo of the reverse it has the same printed names as the Folgore example you found. Any thoughts on that one?

All the best
Bill

Gruppo di Combattimento "Mantova" -"Mantova" Combat Group

Quote:
Formed in autumn 1944 in Calabria starting from elements of the 104th "Mantua" Infantry Division (which at the time of the Armistice was divided between Puglia and Calabria) and of the 54th "Naples" Infantry Division (which at the time of the Armistice was currently being reconstructed in Calabria).

It was not used in combat due to the capitulation of the German army before it entered the line

Hi, as far as I am aware, Italy did use some plasticated badges as well. They definitely used them post WW2 as well as the regular metallic ones.
