Default Devonshire Officers Cap Badges

I have added a couple of Devonshire Officers badges to my latest collection in recent months. The last one was in need of a little repair and as I have now taken care of that, I've been trying to find an image of another badge just like it, without success.

The first one, OSD Bronze, I can see lots of those, but #2 appears to be a OR's bimetal badge with blades (one to begin with, at least, and traces of the other) I am wondering what I actually have here, has this just been messed with, or is there some other explanation?

The OSD is probably made by Gaunt.

The second badge is an other ranks badge originally lugged? (possibly Edwardian?) but with Officers style blades retro fitted and then broken, maybe there was interim stage where it was converted into a brooch fitting back in the day and an other enthusiastic badge collector "repaired" it?

Many thanks, Rob, you've confirmed what I was starting to think, I'll need to find a Devonshire silver/gilt badge with loops for this Officers pair, sadly, there isn't going to be any cheap shortcut, after all!

Officers full dress Silver Gilt badges are often riveted together rather than braised, probably to protect the plating from the heat.

I have a KC shown in post 26 of this thread which I suspect was one of these but the plating has now been mostly cleaned off.

Oh dear, the plot thickens, it's looking as if 2 pieces might be a good idea as well as having loops.

I think these may be the type you are looking for
the QVC's have velvet/felt backing the KC enamel

Those are the smaller Officers collar badges, but they may have been worn on a hat at times.

Yes small those with shorter lugs I think are collars but I have similar sets for Lincolnshire and beds and Herts with the cap the same size but longer lugs

Yes, many thanks, chaps, I think that I'll need to settle for just the OSD Bronze, Devonshire, in my collection. I thought the same with Lincolnshire, as it happens. I do actually have a Lincolnshire collar badge with a brooch pin. These also were worn on Officers caps, it seems, but, sadly, my one has the sphinx looking the wrong way! I do have another 67 regiments to think about, so I don't really want to spend too much time on just two of them.

It looks like it, the castle seems to be a riveted overlay as well.
Cheers,
Alex
