Interestingly, identical to the image that appears in the shield centre of the arms of the County of Somerset.

Royal Welch Fusiliers Museum Facebook post from 2019 :

The attached photographs show officers and men of both battalion’s mingling. It is interesting to see all other ranks wearing a brass Fusilier grenade, usually warn on the jacket shoulder strap as a cap badge in their slouch hats.

Also note the soldier fourth from the right is wearing a cloth badge of the RWF Red Dragon Rampant on the upturned side of his slouch hat. An example of the actual badge from the RWF Museum Archive can also be seen below.

Although not seen in the picture many officers used a service dress collar badge as their slouch hat cap badge.

It’s a Tudor Dragon that also appears identically in the Arms of the City of London. The link for its use was King Henry VII who liked to claim descendance from Owain Glyndwr, who raised it as his standard, although it goes back before that to Cadwaladr, king of Gwynedd from 655 to 682, and even further to the Welsh Kings of Abberfraww. The design though became standardised at a later stage. I don’t know what the Tudor connection is with Somerset.
