The PPCLI coloured field service cap came into wear in 1938. This pattern boss was adopted at the time. It was worn through the war and into the post war era. Nice example.

In addition to the CFSC with the boss, the Lt. is wearing the scarce printed rank slip-ons.

Is there any reason for the different colours for the cord material? I have seen three different colours used for the Patricia boss badge.

I've seen grey, green and black. But I think the black may have been a very dark rifle green.

Hi Bill,

With the above pictured one, which I am seeing as black, I have a silver cord and have seen one with the rifle green colour, so just those three.

Hi James, The one above is now across the pond, and is a dark rifle green with a screw post fastener.

Bill, the one I've seen was a much lighter colour of green. I'll see if I can get a photo of it and post it here.
