A Dragon Badge but which Regiment?
Firstly apologies for the quality of the images but the postcard in question is not the clearest. Having recently been looking at Brookies excellent Welsh themed albums showing various photographs and postcards I thought I would try and get an exact identification for a card I have where the cap badge appears to be a Dragon of some description.
No Studio marks to indicate a location I'm afraid. Any identifications greatly appreciated. Regards Simon. |

Those buttons look like the brown leather "football" buttons to me.

Mike, Walt, Eddie and Hoot,
Many thanks to you all for your replies, unfortunately the original photograph is not the best quality so I can't get the buttons any clearer. Regards Simon. |

Afternoon all.
I'm going with Dave as those buttons are black rifle brigade you can see the mouth of the bugle on the breast pocket. Ta Jonathan |

Jonathan,
Thanks very much, have looked under a glass at the buttons and they do, as you suggest, appear to have a bugle design on them. Simon. |

I also thought the Brecknockshire had a title scroll - so sticking with my first idea - 1st Bn Monmouthshire - early pattern. Some comparisons here:
