South Wales Borderers Band Pouch Badge
A recent find which appears to be a a band pouch badge for the South Wales Borderers according to the Durand collection (an old catalogued collection to the SWB & Monmouthshires). I’ve shown this against a later Welsh Regiment Officer’s collar for size comparison.
Durand has this is a white metal dragon on green cloth background, however this example has bits of congealed leather and red felt stuck into the back. It is a good quality piece with screw posts to the reverse so definitely a pouch or belt plate. The cap badge to the 2nd Vol Batt’n Monmouths looks to be the same pattern. Eddie, over to you for any more info. Hwyl, Kevin |

Hi Dave,
Thanks for posting yours, any idea why mine has evidence of a red felt backing? Hwyl, Kevin Last edited by 41st; 09-09-20 at 01:37 AM. |
